What it actually feels like
The name says desert. The house is green. That gap matters, because it is the thing most likely to surprise you when you arrive, and it surprises people in the right direction: a mature shade tree over the front lawn, crepe myrtles in bloom along the path, and a back garden deep enough to lose a football in, watered and shaded by two more big trees.
Inside is warm cream walls, wood-look flooring throughout, plantation shutters and oil-rubbed bronze fixtures. The living room has a vaulted ceiling and a fan, two full sofas and a recliner, and opens through to the kitchen bar. The kitchen has been genuinely remodeled — cream shaker cabinetry, marble-look quartz countertops, a farmhouse sink under the window, stainless appliances — and it is the reason people who cook end up staying longer than they planned.
It is a real family house that has been kept properly, not a flipped investment unit furnished from a catalog. There is a red painted cabinet in the living room and a wall clock the size of a dinner tray. Somebody chose those.
Start with the kitchen and dining room, or go straight to the garden and patio, which is where guests actually spend their evenings.

Two things the house does not have
No dryer. There is a washer, and Airbnb lists the dryer under “not included”. For a weekend that is irrelevant. For a month it is a laundromat run every couple of weeks, and you should know that before you book, not after. It is covered properly on the extended-stay page.
No pool or hot tub. There is no pool, no hot tub and no jacuzzi here, and plenty of Roswell searches are looking for exactly that. If swimming matters, Lea Lake at Bottomless Lakes State Park has a genuine sand beach twenty minutes away, which is a better afternoon than a hotel pool anyway.
The complete list, including the “not included” entries, is on the amenities page.
One thing we tell you up front
There are exterior security cameras on the property. In the host’s own words on the listing: “Security cameras for your peace of mind located front, back and sides.” They cover the outside of the house only.
We put that in plain sight rather than in small print because guests find surveillance disclosures reassuring when they are volunteered and alarming when they are discovered. It is also covered on the house rules page alongside the smoke alarm, carbon monoxide alarm, fire extinguisher and first aid kit.
