A house for a working week

For one or two nights a hotel is fine. From about the third night, the math changes: you want a door you can close for a call, a kitchen so dinner is not the third restaurant meal in a row, and somewhere to walk outside between things.

The dedicated workspace: an L-shaped desk with a monitor, a printer on a side table, wall shelving, a mounted television and a shuttered window.

The working setup

A dedicated workspace with a door. Not a chair pulled up to a dining table — a full L-shaped desk in its own room, with a monitor, a task lamp, shelving and a printer table. The full description is here. On a call, in a house that might have five other people in it, a door beats every other amenity on the list.

A second desk in bedroom two. If two of you are traveling together and both take calls, that second surface is the whole difference between a workable week and taking turns in the kitchen.

Two full bathrooms. A 7am call and somebody else’s shower do not have to be the same event.

Wi-Fi, with an honest caveat. It is on the amenity list; a connection speed is not published, and we are not going to invent a figure to make this page more reassuring. If your work needs a specific upload speed, ask the host for a speed test through Airbnb messaging before you book. Five minutes, real answer.

The second bedroom set up with a patchwork-quilted daybed on one side and a desk with a monitor, printer and shelving on the other.
The first full bathroom: a long marble-look vanity with a framed mirror, a separate toilet room, and a doorway through to a bedroom.
Kitchen cabinetry and countertop space.

Location and the airport

The house is in an established residential neighborhood, about fifteen minutes’ drive from downtown Roswell. Residential is the point: no lobby traffic, no housekeeping trolley at 8am, no wedding party on the floor above.

Roswell Air Center (airport code ROW) is the city’s commercial airport. Routes and on-site car rental change over time, so confirm both directly rather than trusting a travel page — including this one. Getting to Roswell covers the arrival options, and getting around covers why you will want a car once you are here.

Free parking on the premises, on a wide driveway. After a week of downtown hotel parking charges, that is a bigger relief than it sounds.

A wide concrete driveway running up to the two-car garage, with crepe myrtles and lawn alongside.
Free parking on the premises. No garage ticket, no overnight charge.

The evening problem

Business travel goes wrong in the evenings, not the days. The work part is the same wherever you sleep; what wears you down is the fourth night of eating alone in a restaurant then sitting on a hotel bed with the television on.

The alternative here is a kitchen you can cook a real meal in, a living room with two full sofas rather than an armchair and a desk chair, and a covered patio with a fire pit and a lawn beyond it. Walking around a garden after a bad day is a small thing that turns out to matter a great deal on day nine.

If the trip runs to weeks rather than days, the extended-stay page covers the longer version — including the missing dryer, which is irrelevant for a week and genuinely relevant for a month.

This suits you if

  • You are here three nights or more
  • You take calls and need a room with a door
  • Two or three of you are traveling on the same job and would rather not share a hotel floor
  • You would cook if you had a kitchen
  • You have a hire car and do not need to walk to anything

This is not for you if

  • You are in and out in one night. A hotel by the airport wins on pure convenience
  • You need a guaranteed connection speed in writing before you travel — ask for a speed test first
  • You need a front desk, daily housekeeping, or a printed receipt at checkout
  • Your expenses policy will not cover a whole-house booking
  • You want to walk from your room to a bar without driving

Working-stay questions

Is the whole house private, or is it shared?

It is an entire home. You have the whole house, the garage driveway and the fenced back garden to yourselves — no shared rooms, no other guests, and no host on site.

Is there Wi-Fi and a place to work?

Yes. The house has Wi-Fi and a dedicated workspace — a proper desk in its own room with shelving and a printer table, not a laptop perched on a kitchen counter. No connection speed is published on the listing, so if you need a specific bandwidth for calls, ask first.

Do I need a car in Roswell?

Realistically, yes. Roswell has no meaningful public transport network, the house is a residential fifteen minutes from downtown, and the best things nearby — Bottomless Lakes, the wildlife refuge, Carlsbad Caverns — are all drives. If you are flying into Roswell Air Center, check car rental availability with the airport directly when you book your flight.
