About this house, and this site
One house, one host, and a set of Roswell guides written because the existing ones are not very good. This page explains who is behind all of it and what standards the writing is held to.

The house
Lana’s Desert Haven is an entire three-bedroom home in Roswell, New Mexico — a single-story brick house on a quiet residential street, remodeled inside, with a fenced back garden under mature shade trees. It sleeps six, welcomes pets, and has gated RV parking down one side.
It is not a portfolio property run by a management company. It is one house, prepared by the person who owns it, and it is documented room by room here with forty-five of her own photographs.
Bookings run through Airbnb. We explain why rather than treating it as an inconvenience — for a listing this new, their protections are the strongest argument we can make.
The site
Two thirds of the pages here are not about the house at all. They are a guide to Roswell: the UFO Museum, Bottomless Lakes, the free zoo, the wildlife refuge, the festival, when to come and what to skip.
That is deliberate. Most Roswell travel content online is written by people who have never been here — the same recycled paragraphs, opening hours that were wrong two years ago, and no sense of how far anything is from anything.
Every third-party fact on this site was taken from the operator’s own website and carries the date it was checked. Where a figure was not published, the page says so and links out. The editorial policy sets that out in full.
What we do not claim
A short list, because a site that is clear about its limits is easier to trust on everything else.
- No guest reviews. The listing is new and has none. There are no testimonials anywhere on this site, no star rating, and no review markup in the page code — because inventing any of that is the single worst thing a site like this could do.
- No Superhost badge. Airbnb flags the host as a New Host who started in 2026. That is accurate and we are not going to dress it up.
- No awards, licenses or years in business. None are claimed because none are documented.
- No accessibility claims. The house has not been formally assessed and Airbnb’s accessibility section for the listing is empty. Here is the honest version.
- No nightly rate. Rates move; a published one goes stale within days.
- No paid recommendations. There are no affiliate links and no sponsored placements anywhere on this site. We earn nothing from any attraction or restaurant mentioned.
Corrections
If something here is wrong — a price that has changed, a restaurant that has closed, an opening time that has moved — tell us. Corrections are made promptly and the “last updated” date on the page changes with them, so you can always see how fresh a page is.
That is not a courtesy line. A guide that admits when it was last checked is worth more than one that pretends to be permanently current.
